Only from a certain position, when moving in front of the gallery window, the lit up lines in the hanging windows would reveal the image of a knife. Otherwise, they blocked the view into the space behind them. The viewer would be reflected several times in the window of the gallery, but also in the windows of the installation.

The installation refers to what might be happening in private spaces that one might not be able to access/look into from the outside using the image of a regular household item. The knife can be used for f.e. cooking but at the same time it’s a symbol for violence.

In times of various lockdowns, the domestic violence against women and children rose exponentially in German homes.
